Happy Thanksgiving!

We sincerely hope that everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Winter Projects

Work on our trusty rescue dinghy commenced in November just before the first snow arrived. The project began with fiberglass work by Bill Malay and Mark Whitehead, then progressed to sanding and painting by a crew that on different days included Al Stevens, Tim Wright, Bruce Burns, Roger Rice, and Joel Nelson helping Mark. The little vessel looks mighty spiffy after her paint job, and come spring, she’ll have a new cover to protect her from the rain.

The Restored Dinghy, Ready for Next Season

In the meantime, Mark Whitehead is hard at work in his cellar building all the rigging bits and pieces for the 2023 Soling class. Once again, Anthony Quinn will be our master sail maker for the class.

Denis Boisvert was given his winter assignment to update the Soling manuals. His computer CAD program is fired up and ready for action, giving the old drafted plans an entirely new look.

Steve Leker, in between grandchildren, is creating dozens and dozens of hulls before Mark Whitehead adds sails – those kits bringing big smiles to our younger skippers.

Tim Wright already is organizing his winter Zoom programs to be presented after the first of the year.

As the winter continues, we’ll be seeking additional helpers for other programs we run.

After only a few more months we'll be sailing in Back Bay again.

Only Five More Months!

Just think of it, in only a few months Back Bay will be clear of ice and welcoming sailors on its water again!
