Participants to Race in ‘Raingutter Regatta’

The New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) will host its last Lake Discovery Family Day of the season on Wednesday, August 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. At this free event, participants will compete in a “Raingutter Regatta” and an ice boat race.

“Our last Lake Discovery Family Day of the season is going to be packed with excitement,” said Programs Manager Anne Lennon. “Kids will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on races, and we can almost guarantee they’ll leave with big smiles.”

Throughout the summer, Lake Discovery Family Days have offered engaging opportunities for children to connect with New Hampshire’s lakes, rivers, and streams.

“One of my favorite things about Lake Discovery Family Days is that we get kids really interacting with this remarkable area we live in,” said NHBM Executive Director Devon Kurtz. “While kids learn about boating safety and handling model boats, they’re having fun and appreciating the fact that we live right next to these incredible bodies of water.”

Lake Discovery Family Days is sponsored by Eastern Propane and O’Connell Family Foundation. “We’re very thankful for our sponsors that allow us to offer this program for free,” added Kurtz.
