The 2025 season opens for the New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) on Saturday, May 24, which excites staff, especially given its nominations for Laconia Daily Sun’s annual Best of the Lakes Region Award. In total, NHBM has been nominated in six categories, which include “Best Family Attraction,” “Best Museum,” “Best Place to Volunteer,” “Best Boat Charter,” “Best Event Venue,” and “Best Nonprofit Organization.” NHBM’s Millie B Antique Boat Rides has also been nominated for “Best Boat Charter” and “Best Family Attraction.”

According to NHBM staff, 2025 is especially significant, as it marks the first full year of operation at its Moultonborough facility. While still a “museum in the making,” certain features of the new facility are already taking shape. “We have exciting new exhibits and events we can’t wait to share this year,” added Stocker. “Visitors will be able to explore ‘Power and Propulsion’, ‘Applications and Innovations’, ‘Speed and Sport’, and our Marina Exhibit, ‘Mahogany Marvels’, featuring early Chris-Crafts and more.”
