NHBM Offers Kid-Friendly Programs This Summer

This summer, the New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) offers a full schedule of kid-friendly programs.

On Thursday, June 12 from 11:00 a.m. to noon, NHBM will host the first Children’s Story Hour of the summer with the Moultonborough Public Library. This free program is designed for children, aged 2 to 6, and includes readings of children’s books followed by a craft activity.

For children in kindergarten through fifth grade and their families, NHBM’s Lake Discovery Family Day will take place on Wednesday, June 25, with a focus on boating safety. “Made possible by the Mark O’Connell Foundation, this event is a perfect balance of information and fun,” said Program Manager Anne Lennon. “Kids will learn important boating safety skills and also participate in engaging activities.”

From Saturday, July 12 to Sunday, July 20, NHBM will also host a family boat-building workshop where participants of all ages will build a functional canoe, kayak, wood duck kayak, paddleboard, or Bevin’s Skiff. “The kids who have participated in this program never forget the experience,” said Lennon.

“NHBM is a great place for families,” added NHBM Executive Director Devon Kurtz. “We hope you join us this summer.”
