While the New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) is not yet open for the 2024 season—it opens on Friday, July 5—staff and volunteers are already celebrating several key milestones at its Moultonborough Campus.
“The new epoxy finish on the floor was completed this winter, thanks to Epoxy New England, and volunteers are making all kinds of incredible progress in getting the Moultonborough building open for the season,” remarked Martha Cummings, NHBM Executive Director. “We are also making progress with exterior landscaping.”
Open for visitors on Friday, July 5, the NHBM—Moultonborough Campus will provide glimpses of its future in 2024 with temporary exhibits. The theme of 2024 at the NHBM—Moultonborough Campus is “a museum in the making.”
When complete, the NHBM campus in Moultonborough will display premier boat collections and offer enhanced exhibition, educational, and event experiences. “This year, we invite the public to come and see a glimpse of NHBM’s future with temporary exhibits that reveal the incredible diversity of our state’s boating culture,“ noted Jaime Laurent, Co-Chair, NHBM Board of Trustees. “We believe boating, the outdoors, lake life, and historic and modern boating culture is for everyone.”
To share this vision for the future, Cummings said NHBM will host a Volunteer Open House on Saturday, June 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event will take place at the NHBM—Moultonborough Campus, 130 Whittier Highway in Moultonborough. “This is a chance for people to learn more about NHBM and how they can participate in an exciting future that begins today,” she said.
