Goodhue Boat Company and NH Boat Museum to Offer “On Water Safety Instruction”

In partnership with Goodhue Boat Company (formerly Shep Brown’s Boat Basin) of Meredith, NH, the New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) will offer “On Water Safety Instruction.”

Designed for individuals with a boater’s license who seek to refine and practice their boating skills, the two-hour class will be offered on Tuesday, June 14 at 9 a.m., 12 noon, and 2 p.m. The class will also be offered every Tuesday during those same times, July 5 – September 6. Each individual class is limited to two persons to “maximize the instructional value,” according to NHBM Executive Director Martha Cummings.

“This is a class taught by Paul French, a NH State Certified Boating Education Instructor, so this is a unique opportunity to learn from a professional,” she said.

In the class, instruction will cover the basic handling characteristics of boats, docking, backing up, entering and leaving a slip, and turning around in limited spaces. “These are the practical boat driving skills that are not covered in boating licensing classes,” added Cummings.

Instruction will be provided in a 21-foot Chaparral Bowrider. Taking place at the docks of Goodhue Boat Company Marina on Lovejoy Sands Road in Meredith, the class includes one hour of hands-on operation and one hour of observation. Limited to two persons, “On Water Safety Instruction will be offered on Tuesday, June 14 at 9 a.m., 12 noon, and 2 p.m. The class will also be offered every Tuesday during those same times, July 5 – September 6.

The cost is $150 for NHBM members and $175 for non-members. To register, visit click this link.
