Festival of Trees Grant to Support Young Sailors at NHBM

The New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) has been selected as a 2026 Wolfeboro Festival of Trees beneficiary, with grant funding designated for two sailboat dollies for its Community Sailing Program.

Offered in partnership with Wolfeboro Parks and Recreation, the program serves approximately 65–70 children each year. The dollies will help young sailors move their boats from storage racks to the water more safely and easily.

“Learning to sail begins before you leave the shore,” said Anne Lennon, NHBM Programs & Events Manager. “These dollies will help children handle their boats as they prepare to launch, and we are grateful to the Festival of Trees for supporting that experience.”

Held at the Wright Museum of World War II in Wolfeboro, the annual festival features Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and organizations to raise funds for area nonprofits. This year’s festivities begin with the Preview Gala on Thursday, December 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by public tree viewing on weekends December 5 –13.

NHBM will also participate in Pizza in the Pines on Wednesday, December 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The adult evening will feature music, pizza, and beer among the decorated trees, with dessert provided by NHBM. Tickets are $25.
