As the New Hampshire Boat Museum (NHBM) prepares for its Summer Boat Auction on Saturday, July 11, a “remarkable” collection of generously donated vessels is taking shape.
“Every boat in this auction tells a story,” noted NHBM Executive Director Devon Kurtz. “This auction is a chance for the next steward to find something they’ll treasure while supporting the museum’s mission.”
This year, one standout that captures the breadth and quality of what bidders can expect includes a 2022 Puffin Boat 860, an 8’6″ rowboat that pairs classic styling with modern, low-maintenance construction. Presented in like-new condition, this lightweight yellow skiff weighs just 80 pounds, comfortably seats up to three, and comes complete with oars and custom seat cushions.
For those who prefer effortless cruising, the 2011 Duffy Snug Harbor is an 18′ electric launch renowned for its timeless lines, comfortable seating, and whisper-quiet operation. Carefully stored indoors and seasonally enjoyed, this well-appointed launch includes a Trail-Rite trailer, canvas cover, two removable tables, pillows, fenders, and a trailer wheel lock.
“These two boats are wonderful examples of the extraordinary quality our donors have entrusted to us,” said Development Director Wendy Stocker. “We look forward to an event like no other in New England.”
All auction proceeds support NHBM’s General Operations Fund. Boats and cars can be previewed at NHBM, located at 130 Whittier Hwy in Moultonborough, on Thursday, July 9 and Friday, July 10 from noon until 5:00 p.m. Free registration opens on Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m., and live bidding begins at 11:00 a.m.
