Here’s the latest news from Commodore Mark Whitehead:

We Too Are on Hold
Like the rest of the country, we are on hold due to the coronavirus. The bay has cleared to allow installation of the dock, but, sadly, we are all hunkered down at home. Let’s hope that before we get too far into June we will be ready to go.

Building Class
The model yacht building workshop is scheduled for Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17. Sign up early so you don’t miss out on your chance to sail with our group. Go to for details.

To date we have five new faces for the July 13 – 17 building class. Andres Jay from Charlestown MA, Tom and John Barstow and John’s wife, Genie Ware, will build Solings (We look forward to the family competition!), and adding to our US12 Fleet will be Bruce Wilhelm from Moultonboro.

Welcome to Our New Skippers!

According to Tim Stone in the latest Model Yachting, a new supplier for the S1M Soling kits has been selected, and a new and improved kit is well underway. Many improvements will be included in the kits that will make building easier and the boat stronger without sacrificing performance.

Incidentally, our premier Soling instructor Bill Quayle is hard at work crafting a new batch of masts. We will have enough for the kits on hand as well as replacements for any mishaps.
