In this Basic Course, students will learn to crew and helm a 22-foot keelboat in light to moderate conditions on Lake
Winnipesaukee. There is no prerequisite for the Basic Course. The Basic Course teaches safety, weather, boat
rigging and control, lake navigation, and seamanship fundamentals. The Advanced Course teaches how to optimize a boat’s
performance: sail trim and shape, upwind and downwind technique, flying a spinnaker, and more. Anyone who has taken the Basic Course or can demonstrate previous experience may take the Advanced Course. Upon registration, Advanced Course candidates will be contacted
