MEET SKIPPER

My River Otter Guide to Adventure

Hi there! I’m Skipper, the official mascot of the New Hampshire Boat Museum! I’m a cheerful river otter who loves boats, splashing in the lake, and helping kids explore the world around them. You’ll spot me right away—I’m the one wearing a bright captain’s hat and a big friendly smile.

Who Am I?

I grew up along the lakes of New Hampshire, where I learned all about boats, paddling, and water safety. I’m curious, brave, and always ready to try something new. I believe every kid can be a great explorer with a little practice and a lot of imagination.

What I Love

  • Building mini-boats out of sticks, leaves, and anything I can find
  • Paddling across calm water to see what’s on the other side
  • Meeting new friends and cheering them on
  • Solving STEAM challenges (I’m especially good at floating and sinking experiments)
  • Telling stories about the animals and boats I see on the lake
