Enjoy Sailing Without the Hassle of Owning Your Own Boat

Sailing is fun! But the drudgery of maintaining and storing a sailboat can be a hassle. Let us take the hassle out of sailing with our Sailboat Sharing Program.

Designed for local sailors and graduates of our Adult Learn To Sail Courses to have shared access to our 2017 Colgate 26 keelboat. The program is ideal for qualified sailors who desire the flexibility to use a boat as much or as little as they want. The Sailboat Sharing program embarks from the Tuftonboro Town Beach in 19 Mile Bay, only 6 miles north of Wolfeboro.

The annual fee includes mooring fees, maintenance, insurance, and use of the boat.

The Sailboat Sharing Program is a partnership between the New Hampshire Boat Museum and Wolfeboro Parks & Recreation and with support from Tuftonboro Parks & Recreation.

Registration is through Wolfeboro Parks and Recreation.  Click Here to Register.

  • Spontaneous reservations may be made if the Colgate 26 isn’t already booked.
  • The Colgate 26’s real time reservation calendar can be found online at the Wolfeboro Parks and Recreation website.
  • To be certified to use the sailboat, participants must demonstrate sailing proficiency administered by either a NH Boat Museum NH licensed Commercial Captain or Wolfeboro Parks & Recreation’s sailing staff.

*Participants must pass skills check prior to making any reservations.

Rules and Regulations:

  • NO alcohol on-board.
  • 4 person boat capacity.
  • All minors on board must wear personal flotation devices at all times.
  • Damage to sailboat or mooring area property will be deducted from your security deposit.

We’re not the only ones who think the Sailboat Sharing Program is a fun and inexpensive way to sail on Winnipesaukee’s waters. The New Hampshire Magazine awarded the program a Best of 2014 Award.
