Why poke around in shops or lie soaking up sun when you can be where the action is – cruising on Lake Winnipesaukee in the Millie B. Our 28-foot, mahogany, triple cockpit “woodie” is a replica 1928 Hacker-Craft that’s accurate down to the seat colors. Riding in the Millie B, you can experience the golden age of boating, when wooden boats ruled fresh water lakes.
You’ll see spectacular scenery and magnificent homes and boathouses (including the summer home of former governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney). You might even spot a loon or two at the Loon Sanctuary – and maybe even see a chick riding on its mother’s back.
During the 45-minute tour, you’ll also hear fascinating stories from your Boat Captain about the lake’s history, geography, geology, and wildlife. Plus you’ll hear about some of the more interesting people who live on the lake.
The Millie B’s triple cockpit can seat eight adults. If young children are in your party, we may be able to fit up to 10. Life vests are provided to children under the age of 14.
And for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you can charter the Millie B for a special occasion.
Our special two-hour Fall Foliage Tour is a great way to see the colors of a New England autumn. Tours begin the day after Columbus Day in October and span a two week time-frame.
Note: The Millie B doesn’t go out in bad weather such as rain and extremely windy days.
If you are traveling from a distance please call the New Hampshire Boat Museum (603-569-4554) to make sure the Millie B is operating that day.
