Every season the New Hampshire Boat Museum has one or more exciting and unusual exhibits
that will pique your interest. This season’s exhibit is a puzzler!

What do a Michigan lumber yard, a Connecticut insurance executive, a central New York bicycle parts manufacturer and a New Hampshire railroad car and trolley manufacturer all have in common? You will have to come to the museum and see for yourself!

New Chapters

Rare Boats that Mark Transitions in Our Economy and Culture 1900-1940

This year’s 2018 exhibit, New Chapters: Rare Boats that Mark Transitions in Our Economy and Culture 1900-1940, features boats that were innovative in their day and tells stories of American ingenuity in response to a changing culture and economy. These are rare and rarely seen boats from the collection of the museum including a Gesswein, a Fay & Bowen, a Dee-Wite, and even a very rare Laconia Car Company boat.

Big Dreams, Little Boats - Part 2

Mid-Century Model Toy Boats

For a second year you can relive your childhood fantasies when young boys collected and played with model toy boats and dreamed of growing up to own their own full-sized wooden boats. The exhibit features new toy boats from Fred Clausen’s extensive collection that date from the mid-1950s through the 1970s, the heyday of toy boat production. You’ll wish you’d kept your childhood collection or could start a new one.
