Our Boathouse Tour has had to be cancelled for 2020 Due to COVID-19 and social distancing restrictions. The necessary proximity of Tour guests to each other in the vintage boats, cars, and at the properties of the boathouse owners makes the traditional approach to this event unworkable this season.

Our Boathouse Tour team has been diligently working on a way to offer an alternative to the physical tour. And what we will be offering instead is a virtual tour – that is, a Boathouse Tour film that guests will be able to view online.

The release is planned for late summer. Our virtual tour will include boathouses that we could never have included in our traditional tour due to navigational difficulty, distance from the launch point, or insufficient docking or parking areas. We have an opportunity to capture historic boathouse sites on film and show our guests even more of Lake Winnipesaukee, plus locations on other beautiful lakes in the Lakes Region.

We look forward to bringing you the amazing spectrum of boathouses to you this year in a new format. The Tour has been and remains a major fundraising event for the Museum, always made possible through the generosity of the property owners, the vintage boat and car owners and drivers, the many volunteers who work that day and the supporters of this event and of the New Hampshire Boat Museum.

Thank you to our 2020 Boathouse Tour sponsor.

Three ways to tour!

Vintage Boat | Antique Car | Self-Drive

Our virtual Boathouse Tour film will give viewers new perspectives from the air, by water, and on land. Until soon!

“This year was my fourth Boathouse Tour and once again it was fabulous. To ride in wooden boats all over the lake and see amazing boathouses and summer “cottages” (which are usually mansions by my definition) is so relaxing and so much fun. We buy our tickets in January to make sure we don’t miss it.”
