Youth Boat Building
Two sessions during the season
Classes start 9 AM - 3 PM
Session 1: June 21 July 2
Session 2: August 9 August 20
Space is limited
The Youth Boat Building School will be conducted at the Museum
for girls
and boys ages 12 to 16, building boats from kits
they select for their own use now, and in the years to come.

Building Graduates and their boats
The kits expected to be available for purchase are:
Kayak:One person plywood kayak
Six-Hour Canoe: A one person plywood canoe
Optimist Sailing Dinghy: An 8 foot sailing dinghy w/sail rig
Bevins Skiff: A 11'6" skiff that will accommodate
several adults.
New this year is the 12-foot Passagemaker skiff that will
accommodate 3 adults, a 4hp outboard or main & jib sail rig.
(Boat choices subject to change)
Students
will be taught the safe use of hand and a limited number of small power
tools, to assemble the kits. At the end of each session, a special launching
on Lake Wentworth will be held to celebrate the completion of the craft.

Student Scholarships
The Museum hopes that all interested youth have the opportunity to participate
in the boat building program. Scholarships are available for the Canoe
only. An application for scholarship/ financial aid is available. Medical/Waiver
form MUST accompany application.

Family Boat Building
July 5 July 10
Classes start promptly at 8:30 AM - 3 PM
Space is limited
The New Hampshire Boat Museum
is offering this program for a single adult or a team of parent(s) and
child. Launching will take place on the sixth day of each session.
Kits expected to be available for purchase are:
Kayak: One person Kayak
Six Hour Canoe: A one person plywood canoe
Optimist Sailing Dinghy: An 8 foot sailing dinghy w/sail rig
Bevins Skiff: A 11'6" skiff that will accomodate several
adults
and can be adapted to handle a small outboard motor.
New this year is the 12-foot Passagemaker skiff that will
accommodate 3 adults, a 4hp outboard or main & jib sail rig.

Kayak Building Week
July 24 July 31
Classes start promptly at 8:30 AM - 3 PM
Space is Limited
Designed Just for Women. Build and launch your own 16' kayak!
Lots of experienced help will be on hand every day to help you each step
of the way. You do not have to be a "woodworker," just someone
who will work hard to create a beautiful finished kayak that you will
be proud to take out on the lakes.
