Youth Boat Building
Youth Boat Building - Classes: 9 AM - 3 PM
Two sessions during the season
Session 1: Monday, June 25 to Friday, July 6; no school July 4 (9 days)
Session 2: Monday, August 6 to Friday, August 17 (10 days)
Space is limited
The Youth Boat Building School will be conducted at the Museum
for girls
and boys ages 12 to 16, building boats from kits
they select for their own use now, and in the years to come.

The kits expected to be available for purchase are:
Kayak:One person plywood kayak - max #160lb
Six-Hour Canoe: A one person plywood canoe
Bevins Skiff: A 11'6" skiff that will accommodate
several adults.

Students
will be taught the safe use of hand and a limited number of small power
tools, to assemble the kits. At the end of each session, a special launching
on Lake Wentworth will be held to celebrate the completion of the craft.

Student Scholarships
The Museum hopes that all interested youth have the opportunity to participate
in the boat building program. Scholarships are available for the Canoe
only. An application for scholarship/ financial aid is available. Medical/Waiver
form MUST accompany application.

Family Boat Building
July 9 to July 14 (6 days)
Monday to Saturday
Classes: 8:30 AM - 3 PM
Space is limited
The New Hampshire Boat Museum
is offering this program for a team of parent(s) or grandparent(s) and
child, or an adult, to assemble the boat project they select. We will
supply all the tools, supplies and expertise to help you build your boat.
At the end of the session, a special launching on Lake Wentworth will
be held to celebrate the completion of the craft.

Boat Building
July 21 to July 28 (8 days) Only class to build the Passagemaker
Saturday through Saturday
Classes: 8:30 AM - 3 PM
Space is Limited
Build and launch a boat of your choice. Lots of experienced help will
be on hand every day to help you each step of the way. You do not have
to be a woodworker, just someone who will work hard to create
a beautiful finished boat that you will be proud to take out on the lakes
and rivers. Women are encouraged to register.
Kits expected to be available for purchase are:
Kayak: One person Kayak - max #160lb
Six Hour Canoe: A one person plywood canoe
Bevins Skiff: A 11'6" skiff that will accomodate several
adults
and can be adapted to handle a small outboard motor.
Passagemaker Skiff: A 12' skiff that will accomodate three adults
a 4hp outboard motor or main and jib sail rig.
