The Downeaster is an 18' plywood runabout designed by Charlie Wittholz. The design was commissioned by "Wooden Boat" to be at home in the waters off the coast of Maine and was published in the magazine issues, 73, 74, 75. The boat has a soft riding Deep Vee hull with high freeboard and a Lyman style windhield. This boat was built locally and is powered by a quiet 90HP Honda four storke. The boat and motor sit on a three year old galvanized trailer, have seen limited service are in "as new" condition. Call 603-569-6693

Classic boat. $45,000 Loro2@metrocast.net 603 569-9272
I have decided to sell my 1953 Chris Craft Racing Runabout. I purchased the boat in 2002 from its second owner John Freeman who bought and stored the boat for 25 years from the original owner in South Carolina. The boat was untouched and in excellent original condition. She was basically perfect and no mahogany had ever been replaced or refinished.  My goal was to restore what needed to be done and leave as much in the original state.  Thus, I had the upholstery redone, repainted the bottom with Petit hard bronze racing paint, refinished the decks and transom. A few hardware pieces needed to be chromed. I had two custom cockpit covers made and left the topsides with the original Chris Craft stain. I entered the boat in the NE Antique and Classic boat show in 2004 and it won 1st in its Class and the Best Chris Craft Award. The boat is powered by a Chris Craft MBL 158 HP engine. I have fairly priced the boat at $55,000.00. If you have ever desired to own a classic, rare, runabout that is turn key and a great investment you should consider this boat. A custom Windsor trailer is included with the boat. I just finished a four year custom restoration of a 1927 22’Chris Craft and feel its time the CCRR was enjoyed by someone new. A comparison of similar boats can be seen at: www.classicboat.com   and   www.sierraboat.com
