1964 - 17' Thompson lapstrake runablout with trailer - The boat was restored over the 2010 and 2011 summers. It is shown in the water in September 2011. Restoration included: new mahogany plywood decks, new mahogany rear seat, new dashboard, copper bottom paint, all brightwork stripped and redone, white hull sanded and painted, new non-skid paint on floorboards, etc. Mechanically, it now has a modern, reliable, 60 hp, 4-stroke, fuel injected 2005 Mercury. The old illegal rope and pulley steering was replaced with a Teleflex no-feedback cable system, retaining the original Thompson steering wheel. Electrically rewired with 2011 battery. Fuel tank and hoses are new, low perm design. Trailer is double axle, contemporary with the boat but with new tires. Overall, it's a quality classic woody with modern reliability. $7500. e-mail billhz@mindspring.com for more information.
