A 3 Day Weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine
3-day weekend at cottage on Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport, Maine. The weekend must be mutually agreeable in any month from June through October. The cottage is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath California Ranch style house that is about 200 yards from high tide. It comfortably sleeps 4. The beach is fairly quiet but only 10 minutes from the chaos (euphemistically called a tourist Mecca) of Kennebunkport Village and the Bush Compound. There is great surf fishing on the beach and many Stripers are taken on fly rod.

Goose Rocks Beach is approximately 3 miles long from Little River in the east to Batson’s River in the west. It’s wide and fine-sand beach affords wonderful views of the Goose Rocks and Timber Island just off the coast. It’s shallow grade and lack of surf make it perfect for the sand pail set. Be sure to walk past the point down the westerly end of the beach. The many tidal pools are a favorite of young and old. The walking area is quite expansive at low tide. This is a natural, unspoiled, uncommercialized beach. There are a number of conservation efforts under way to promote the nesting of endangered seaside birds.
