Hampshire Boat Museum Ice Out Dinner A Success April 24, 2009 - Wolfeboro, NH The New Hampshire Boat Museum is pleased to announce its 4th Annual Ice Out Dinner, held at Club 59, Kingswood Golf Club in Wolfeboro, was a great success, with over $4,000 raised at the event. Despite the poor economic climate, the community continues to be generous supporters of our nonprofit, stated Hank Why, Chair of the Trustees. During the evening, a special presentation was made by Ken Sandhage of Alton Bay who donated a set of photographs featuring valuable vintage race boats that raced on the lake in the 1920s. These will serve as a great addition to the Museum's fine collections. Grateful acknowledgement is made to those who donated items for the after-dinner auction: Robert Seifert, The Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Kingswood Golf Club, Duane Hammond, Hank & Kathy Why, Phil Spencer, Ron Holley, Bob Theve, Len Finethy, Duff & Jeanie Lewis, Duane Hammond, Rick Kourian, Charlie Wallace, Marriott Boston Copley, Lorraine Holley, Dennis & Cynthia Shaurer, John Russell and Bonnie Martin. Special recognition goes to Jaime Laurent who acted as volunteer auctioneer at the event. The Museum is fortunate to have over 100 active volunteers committing thousands of hours annually to implement its many programs, services and events. Founded in 1992, the New Hampshire Boat Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization focusing on boating heritage and life on the lakes and rivers of New Hampshire. It fulfills this mission through the Museum's exhibits and outreach programs, events, publications and hands-on activities. The Museum will open for the season on Saturday, May 23, and is located at 397 Center Street, Wolfeboro Falls, 2 miles northeast of downtown Wolfeboro on Route 28, on a 12 acre site formerly part of the Allen A Resort property.
