If you're looking for a vintage boat or a lake or camp-related antique this summer, there will be something for everyone to consider at the nonprofit's annual fundraiser. To view a sample of auction items, visit their website at www.nhbm.org/events; go to “New England Vintage Boat Auction,” and click on “Auctioneers Page.”

Auctioneer Peter Coccoluto (NH License No. 3080) is known for his clear, congenial auctioning style developed over the past 16 years of working for a variety of New England auction houses and on his own. A 1997 graduate of the Yankee School of Auctioneering, he has served as assistant auctioneer to Ron Bourgeault of Northeast Auctions in Portsmouth, NH for the past four years and is the principal auctioneer at Landry Auctions, Essex, MA. Auction regulars appreciate his meticulous approach and his ability to retain bidder numbers and information, although he can blaze through 100 lots in an hour.

A selection of this year's items on the auction block include The Jolena III, a 2002 26' Fantail Launch, a 1952 15' Hinckley Kingfisher, a 21' Regal Cuddy Cabin or a 1929 Old Town Canoe, just to name a few.

A variety of rustic camp furnishings and nautical items will be auctioned, including Remington style bronzes, Heywood Wakefield wicker, a Baby Bootlegger wooden model, formal and country paintings, and a rare complete World War I vintage US Army trench binocular set with tripod - ideal for watching the boat traffic on the lake.

Boats may be previewed the day before the auction on Friday, July 17 from 12 to 5pm, as well as on Friday evening's special preview party that begins at 6pm (pre-registration required; $25 per person).

The New England Vintage Boat Auction is the Museum's largest annual fundraiser and draws hundreds of registered bidders every year. There may still be space available for donations or consignments; boats accepted for donation help the Museum in its fundraising efforts while providing a tax benefit to the donor.

All proceeds benefit the New Hampshire Boat Museum, a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization focusing on boating history and heritage of New Hampshire's lakes and rivers. The Museum is located at 397 Center Street (Route 28N), Wolfeboro Falls, 2 miles northeast of downtown Wolfeboro. Hours are Mon.-Sat., 10am-4pm, and Sun. 12noon-4pm. For further information, contact Ann Sprague at 569-4554, asprague@nhbm.org, or visit their web site at nhbm.org.
