New Hampshire Boat Museum
Offers Workshop on Shoreland Environmental Law
May 26, 2009 - Wolfeboro, NH
Learn about the Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act at The New Hampshire
Boat Museum in Wolfeboro on Thursday, June 11. The workshop will be presented
by Jason Aube of the NH Department of Environmental Services and held
at the Museum in Wolfeboro beginning at 7pm.
This program will be of interest to many people, including boaters,
shorefront homeowners, builders and marine contractors, indicated
Hank Why, NHBM Chair.
Significant amendments to this act by the New Hampshire Legislature became
effective last year. This presentation will provide an overview of these
changes and will include an opportunity for questions from guests. Areas
of discussion will include waterfront buffers, impervious surface limitations
and activities that do not require a shoreland permit.
Come early or stay late to view the new exhibits in the Museum or enjoy
some refreshments.
Other upcoming lectures include: Ice Yachting in the Lakes Region
on July 16, Archeology Under New Hampshire Waters on August
6, and The Lady of the Lake on August 27.
In addition, NHBM offers a variety of hands-on activities such as its
Summer Boat Building, Community Sailing, Powerboat Safety and Model Sailboat
Racing Programs. Other upcoming events include the New England Vintage
Boat Auction on July 18, Family Day on August 1, 33rd Annual Alton Bay
Boat Show on August 8, 3rd Annual Boathouse Tour on August 13 and the
