New Hampshire Boat Museum Offers Boat Building Classes
Build A Boat This Summer at the New Hampshire Boat Museum

The New Hampshire Boat Museum in Wolfeboro is now accepting applications
for its summer boat building classes for youth, family, adults and a special
women-only class.
Space is limited for these popular boat building classes, and you are
encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Some financial aid for youth
is available. Further details, registration materials, and financial aid
applications are available online at nhbm.org/programs.
Students will be taught the safe use of hand and small power tools by
expert teachers. Choose from the following boat kits, ordered by the museum:
one-person canoe; one-person kayak; 12-foot Bevin's Skiff; or Optimist
Class 8-foot Sailing Dinghy.
Select from the following sessions:
Youth Boat Building - Designed for youth ages 12 to 16 years.
Session 1: June 22-July 3; Session 2: August 3-14; 8:30am-3pm.
Family & Adult Boat Building Course - Designed for a
team of grandparent(s) or parent(s) and a child. Great for grandchildren
visiting this summer; recommended minimum age 10 years old. Session 1:
July 6-11; Session 2: July 13-18; 8:30am-3pm. The second session is open
to individual adults, particularly in order to accommodate overflow from
the popular Women's Kayak Building Class.
Women's Kayak Building Designed just for women.
July 27-August 1, 8:30am-3pm. An opportunity for ladies to learn the proper
use of hand tools and epoxy in a non-threatening environment and construct
a beautiful wooden kayak.
The New Hampshire Boat Museum greatly appreciates the donations of plywood
from Maine Coast Lumber and the epoxy and fiberglass from MAS Epoxies,
that allow these classes to be offered at affordable prices.
The New Hampshire Boat Museum will open for the season on Sat., May 23,
Mon.-Sat. 10am-4pm, Sun. 12-4pm. It is located at 397 Center Street (Route
28/109), Wolfeboro Falls, 2 miles east of downtown Wolfeboro on a 12-acre
site formerly part of the Allen A Resort property. For further information
