New Trustees Elected to the Museum Board
New Trustees Elected to the New Hampshire Boat Museum Board. November 30, 2009 Wolfeboro, NH. The New Hampshire Boat Museum of Wolfeboro is pleased to announce the election of five new Trustees to the Board. Elected for three year terms are Mark Whitehead of Ossipee, Don McBride of Wolfeboro, Eric Letendre of Melvin Village, and Carol Bly and Zeke Bly of Wolfeboro Falls.

“We are fortunate to have these new Trustees who each bring their own expertise, experience and enthusiasm to the New Hampshire Boat Museum,” stated Hank Why, Chairman of the Board.

Mark Whitehead has volunteered for NHBM for many years and heads the organization’s radio-controlled Model Sailboat Program.  He is a local native, having graduated from Brewster Academy and Paul Smiths College with a degree in Hotel Management.  He has been active in the food service business and Wolfeboro Power prior to retirement and Heritage NH in North Conway.

Don McBride brings many years of business experience to NHBM as he owned and operated Halls Pharmacy in Wolfeboro for 30 years.  He is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and served several years in the US Army after graduating from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.  An active member of the community, he has led the Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce, Wolfeboro Rotary Club, Hearthstone Homes of Wolfeboro, and was named the Lions Club Citizen of the Year in 2007.  He presently serves as President of the Land Bank of Wolfeboro-Tuftonboro and Chairman of the Nick Recreation Park’s Landscaping Group.

Eric Letendre brings to NHBM over 20 years experience in finance and investments.  He is a Certified Financial Advisor, President and Founder of Shannon Investments located in the Lakes Region of NH, and a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the US Army Reserves.  He earned a BA in History and Modern Languages at the Virginia Military Institute and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and is presently an adjunct faculty member at Plymouth State University. Letendre presently volunteers with the Wolfeboro Meals on Wheels and Great Waters Music Festival.

Carol Bly has 37 years in elementary school education and has worked on various committees for the New Hampshire 4th grade history curriculum.  In addition to volunteering for NHBM, she has volunteered in a variety of assignments with the Governor Wentworth School District, Ossipee Village Church, and Clearlake’s Chorale and is President of the Holden Shore-Lake Wentworth Association.

Zeke Bly also brings a wealth of educational experience to NHBM.  He has taught Industrial Arts and Technology Education in the area’s middle and high schools for 35 years, including boat building courses. He has attended the Wooden Boat School in Brooklin, Maine, restored several Chris Craft boats as well as the Hickman Sea Sled presently on display at NHBM, and built many canoes, kayaks and rowing shells.  He has been an active volunteer for NHBM in various capacities over the years and will head the new Wooden Boat Restoration Program at NHBM.
The New Hampshire Boat Museum is grateful to three outgoing Trustees for their outstanding service and dedication:  Sheldon Jones, who served on the Executive Committee and chaired the Lecture Series; Phil Spencer, who serves on the Collections & Exhibits Committee and assisted in a variety of capacities; and Charles Lincoln, who made major contributions to the popular Boat Building Program.
