Fantail Excursion

Peter Ferber Original Painting “Fantail Excursion”

The Antique and Classic Boat Show 1996 Poster Artwork

SOLD $2,100

These are the ORIGINAL paintings by Peter Ferber used to print the posters from. Rare and valuable.

For the first time, three original Peter Ferber paintings used for the famous Antique and Classic Boat Show poster collection, will be available to the public at the New Hampshire Boat Museum Auction on July 15 at 10:00 AM.

This turn-of-the-century scene recalls an era of more graceful lines and a slower pace. A properly dressed couple seated in their wicker deck chairs head out into the bay in an 1890’s naptha-powered fantail launch. Parasoled ladies are rowed about in wine-glass stern skiffs. Gaff-rigged catboats catch an afternoon breeze. The 1872 side-wheel lake
steamer Mount Washington arrives in Wolfeboro Bay on its scheduled route around Lake Winnipesaukee, providing an essential link for passengers and freight on the Boston and Maine Railroad.

This represents a great opportunity to purchase a Peter Ferber original and a part of New Hampshire boating and lake history. For years the posters have been collector items, now three of the originals will be auctioned individually at the NHBM auction.
