1954 Wagemaker Wolverine

1954 14′ Wagemaker Wolverine

1956 Mercury Mark 30 and a handmade trailer (gator), 1979 very good condition with new tires.

From the Owner:  I purchased this boat from its second owner.  The second owner purchased the boat in Aug. 1968.  It was always in fresh water, mostly used on Otis Lake, MA.  In 1977 the transom was damaged on the Connecticut River.  The owner stored the boat upside down on saw horses in his garage hoping someday to make the necessary repairs. There it sat for 35 years. He became elderly and realized he could not perform the work.  I purchased the boat in 2012.  I replaced the transom with a piece of vintage mahogany used on the outside and double marine grade plywood on the inside for extra strength.  I completely striped and sanded the exterior.  It was stained and protected with five coats of Interlux marine varnish. All bright work was replaced with new.  All of the wood on this boat is in excellent shape with no rot.

The outboard motor is a Mercury 30 with electric start.  In 2014 it was shipped to Aim Marine in Ontario Canada.  They specialize in rebuilding vintage Mercury Mark 30 outboards and they have easy access to parts.  See You Tube videos that show their work. I had them install a temperature sending unit so that it can be monitored with the temperature gauge on the dashboard.  I will include a service manual and the original owner’s guide which also has the original motor operating tags.  The boat has Mercury Quick-Silver electric controls (key start, choke, forward/reverse, speed control)

The trailer fits this boat perfectly.  It is a Gator, although it was registered as Homemade since the original registration was missing when I purchased it.  The tires are new, wheel bearings repacked (right side new), new safety chains, and new winch strap.
